The South Tyneside Mussel Club has appointed Samantha Davidson, Managing Director of Horizonworks Marketing, to be the new host of the networking club, organising the ever popular monthly informal networking club meetings.

Samantha, who was born and raised in South Shields, set up her business in South Tyneside in March 2010, following 12 years working in senior marketing positions for a range of well known public and private sector businesses across the region. Her company, Horizonworks Marketing specialises in providing strategic marketing support, in particular providing an outsourced marketing service to businesses.

Horizonworks Marketing is a strategic marketing company offering a full range of services from strategy development and planning to delivery of communications, PR and branding.

Samantha aims to bring a different dimension to the Mussel Club, which is already a well established informal networking club, where local business people can meet, discuss ideas and develop new opportunities.

Samantha will host a series of themed events, which will focus on ways that local organisations, both public and private sector,  can collaborate together to solve common issues such a supply chain, procurement, stakeholder engagement and delivering a return on investment.

Samantha commented: “I am honoured to be asked to host the South Tyneside Mussel Club meetings, and am really looking forward to helping local companies to find new business opportunities. The Mussel Club is a great way to network as it provides a relaxed and informal environment, great food and drinks, and no membership fees.

“I’m keen to expand the South Tyneside Mussel Club and to work with established groups in the area to meet the one common purpose businesses in the region have; to meet new business connections, partners and suppliers and ultimately develop more business opportunities.”
